Meet our founder
Imogen Buxton-Pickles
Dance and fitness have always been Imogen's passion.
Professional credentials include Sports and Exercise Science BSc (Hons), Central YMCA FIT Tutor, Course Director and Assessor, with a Teaching Level 5 OCR. YMCA FIT Qualifications are many including Full Personal Trainer Award along side the Exercise to Music Award, Nutrition & Weight Management and Freestyle Choreography. She is a Certified UK presenter status for the New York City Ballet Workout, and earned her International Dance Teachers’ Association certifications in modern jazz dance.
Imogen spent much of her early career working one-to-one with teachers across the UK, helping them deliver better quality dance and PE lessons to kids age 4-11.
Knowing that its always better to 'teach someone to fish', Imogen's focus was on coaching and supporting the teachers. She knew she could give them the skills, resources and confidence to teach dance themselves.
But doing this one teacher at a time was limiting. Imogen wanted to help more. So in April 2010, imoves Primary Dance was created. Everything Imogen had previously taught in person was made available online. A full PE programme then followed, alongside the Active Schools resources which are now so popular.
Teachers, educators and instructors from all around the world could now learn at their own pace. They had instant on demand access to everything needed to lead engaging, educational and fun PE and Active Learning classes. They could teach confidently and competently, and they didn't need to be experts themselves.

Aimed at 4 to 7 years old, this 3 week unit teaches basic movements to music, that children can develop into a simple space themed dance performance.
Dance - Under The Sea
Aimed at 7 to 11 year olds, this 3 week unit embeds children's understanding about romans - after learning the basic movements, children can craft a roman themed dance performance.
Dance Style - Jive
Hugely popular with all ages - these 3 lessons build progressively so children can learn different moves and create a samba carnival dance routine.

How much does Primary Dance cost?
We understand that school budgets can be tricky. We keep our prices low, so we can support as many schools as possible. You can try Primary Dance for FREE for 28 days. If you like what you see you’ll have the option to upgrade. Primary Dance costs just £397+vat per year for a primary school, £277+vat for KS2 or £247+vat for KS1.
Is the subscription per teacher or per school?
An imoves subscription gives you whole school access, so you and all the other teachers can use all the lesson plans, videos and other resources.
How does Primary Dance work?
It’s super simple. Each lesson has a how-to guide, lesson plans, music, videos and printable resources. You just log in, find the dance type you want to teach and everything’s right there for you. No planning. No panicking.
Is music included in the subscription?
Yes. Primary Dance includes modern music tracks that are suitable for the type of dance covered in that particular lesson. Saving you time and ensuring you have the right resources at your fingertips.
Can someone help me to get started?
Absolutely. We offer a complimentary onboarding support call with a member of our team when you first sign up. They’ll get to know you and your needs and show you exactly how you can use Primary Dance in your school. We also have regular weekly “Support Clinic” calls, so there’s always help when you need it.
I’ve no dance experience. Will this help me?
Yes! Primary Dance has everything you need. It’s suitable for all teachers, even if you’ve got no previous dance experience and two left feet!
How long will we be able to use the resources?
Your FREE trial gives you access for 28 days, after which time you will have the option to upgrade to an annual membership.
What if we find this doesn't work for our school?
